Molding or Moulding?
You can spell it either way! We chose the European way because plaster moldings have been used there for hundreds of years. We use improved technology though, to make our moldings resistant to shattering when we attach them to your walls and ceiling using nail gun or screws.

At Atlas Designer Mouldings, we are proud to provide our customers with a superior quality product. Our products can be custom installed or sold directly (we recommend you have carpentry and drywall skills to install yourself).
Comparisons:
- To get a wider moulding from other products (wood, MDF) it must be built up from multiple pieces. Corners must be mitered perfectly or there will be gaps. Plaster mouldings have perfect corners because any gaps or flaws are filled with plaster mud after the moulding has been mounted to the wall.
- Wood, MDF, and polyurethane foam mouldings expand and shrink with humidity, which can leave gaps at seams and mitered corners.
- Wood is not a good choice for bathrooms and kitchens as it can bow and deteriorate from the humidity. MDF and foam break down and rot in humid environments.
- Some polyurethane foams catch fire quickly and the smoke can be toxic.
- Most MDF products off-gas formaldehyde.
